Dynamics GP 2013 R2 in the Cloud!

Microsoft has made Dynamics GP available in any Browser that can use Silverlight 5. That would be Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. Safari, using Mac OS X, can use Silverlight, but we have not tested it with Dynamics GP.

It was a tremendously complicated project for Microsoft to turn all of the Dynamics GP source code (written in Dexterity – C Language) to HTML, so GP can run in a browser. Hundreds of thousands of man hours or more, in my estimation.

But Microsoft did a nice job. We set up Dynamics GP with the Web Client and SQL Reports on Windows Azure. The performance is fine. We put all the components on one server, including SQL. It has 7 GB of RAM and the response is as good as or better than a client-server installation on premise.
